On Tuesday, we became certified foster parents and are waiting for the opportunity to care for and love kids, provide a safe refuge and give biological parents the time they may need to better prepare themselves for parenthood.  Also, on Tuesday, we received a call to take in a two month old, baby boy.  Unfortunately, this child is likely not going to be reunited with his biological parents and will be needing a permanent placement (adoption).  We are not at the point, at which, adoption is a consideration, and it took a long time for us to discuss this case...25 minutes, to be precise.  In that 25 minutes, the child was already placed.  The one thing this situation taught us is that there is a significant need, and we look forward to filling those needs in the future.
